The Middlesex County Housing Continuum of Care Committee (MCHC3) has announced that applications are currently being accepted for new and renewing projects for the 2014 US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care application process. The applications are being done in anticipation of the 2014 Notice of Funding Available (NOFA) being released by HUD.
Per HUD regulations, all renewing and new project applications will be evaluated at the same time. The Technical Review Committee will rank the projects based on the attached 2014 Scoring Sheet.
All applications and supporting documentation, including HMIS reports for renewing grants, must be submitted to by Wednesday, July 30th at 4PM to:

One original and two copies should be hand delivered or sent by guaranteed services delivery (FedEx, UPS, etc.) by the July 30th deadline. Also, please email a copy of the application to Harriet Slonim at email@example.com

The Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders has included funds in the capital budget in 2009 and 2010, totaling $1,000,000 each year, to be used as seed or leveraging funds for housing for the homeless. Specifically, the purpose of this 2009 “Housing First” Fund is to assist in the creation of permanent affordable and accessible units which implement the Middlesex County 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness. This could include, but is not limited to, the construction of new housing units, the rehabilitation of existing units, the acquisition of land or existing structures for the purposed construction or rehabilitating of units to be used as permanent housing for homeless individuals and/or families.
