Celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday

FEBRUARY 1, 2013 – The Middlesex County Cultural & Heritage Commission and East Jersey Olde Towne Village would like to invite you and your family to a celebration in honor of Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday.

Actor and historian Bob Gleason of the American Historical Theatrewill portray Abraham Lincoln at 1p.m. and again at 3p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. The free program will take place at East Jersey Olde Towne Village at 1050 River Road in Piscataway.

Gleason joined the American Historical Theatre in 1991, where his in-depth historical research and audience interactivity have become hallmarks of his portrayals. Gleason has been featured at the White House Visitors’ Center, Ford’s Theatre, National Archives, Library of Congress, and Smithsonian Institution, as well as schools, museums, historic sites, and libraries throughout the United States.

“I commend The Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission for offering such a diverse array of family-friendly programming,” said Freeholder Charles E. Tomaro, chair of the County’s Business Development and Education Committee. “This program is particularly timely given the renewed interest in the Lincoln Presidency, thanks to the award-winning feature film.”

Middlesex County Freeholder Director Christopher D. Rafano said: “Middlesex County is very proud of our historical East Jersey Olde Towne Village and the outstanding programs it offers.  By celebrating our history, we enrich our own lives and those of future generations.”
