Public Health Department Inspection
Program
You are probably aware that the Middlesex County Public Health Department
is continuing their successful recycling inspection program. Inspectors
visit every business establishment in every municipality as well as
multifamily units to ensure their compliance with the Recycling Act
and County Solid Waste Management Plan. Mixing your garbage and recyclables
in one container without a proper recycling exemption means that your
business is in non-compliance with the Recycling Act. Although the overall
goal of the program is to educate businesses and multifamily units to
recycle, a notice of violation and fine may be issued to repeat offenders
of any recycling requirements.
Questions about the Inspection Program can be directed to the Public
Health Department at 732-745-8492.
