Auto fatality under investigation


††††††††† Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Benjamin Ruiz of the Perth Amboy Police Department announced that police are actively investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a Chrysler minivan on Smith Street this morning.


††††††††† Pedro Reyes-Tejada 34, of Perth Amboy was pronounced dead at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy at 6:58 a.m. after he was hit while crossing Smith Street near the railroad station at 6:08 a.m.


††††††††† No charges have been filed, but the investigation is active and is continuing.
