Chief William Volkert would like to
advise the residents of Old Bridge that the Old Bridge Police Department will be
implementing a Citizens
Police Academy
beginning Tuesday, November 16, 2010.
The Citizens
Police Academy
exposes residents of Old
Bridge to entry level
police training in order to familiarize them with police procedures. The Academy also provides an interactive
forum for the police to provide information to the community.
Township residents must be 21 years
of age or older to participate in the Citizens Police
Academy. The Academy will meet one (1) night per week
for thirteen (13) weeks. Residents will
be educated as to topics concerning criminal law, motor vehicle law, accident
investigation, patrol tactics, defensive tactics, fire arms familiarization,
CPR certification and a ride-along with an officer on patrol.
Applications are available in the
OIC’s office of the Old Bridge Police Department in the Township Municipal
Complex. Class size is limited.
