East Brunswick woman is determined to be the victim of a homicide

 

 

          Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and East Brunswick Police Director Barry Roberson today announced that an 84-year-old woman found dead on Friday, May 1, 2009, was the victim of a homicide.

 

          Ellen Elfstrom of 11 Lee Street, East Brunswick, was found dead in her home at 6:47 p.m. by East Brunswick police. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:19 p.m.

 

          Police went to the home after being told that Ms. Elfstrom had not been seen for several days.

 

An autopsy performed May 4, 2009, by Dr. Frederick J. DiCarlo, Middlesex County assistant medical examiner, determined that Ms. Elfstrom died from blunt force trauma.

 

A preliminary investigation confirmed today that Ms. Elfstrom was the victim of a homicide.
