Edison man slain

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Chief John Zebrowski of the Sayreville Police Department announced today that authorities are actively investigating the death of a 28-year-old Edison man whose body was found in Sayreville.

Kelvin Dumo was pronounced dead at 5:25 a.m. on November 7, 2011, after he was found on property owned by Viking Terminal on Jernee Mill Road in Sayreville.

An autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Mr. Dumo was the victim of a homicide, but the exact cause of death is being withheld at this time as part of the investigation.

Investigator Michael Daniewicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Douglas Sprague of the Sayreville Police Department began the investigation after a man, whose name is being withheld, was on his way to work when he saw the victim and called 911 at 4:49 a.m. on November 7, 2011.
