Ex-teacher admits sex assault
Middlesex
County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan announced today that a former
Marzet
Farris, (DOB 7/10/42) of Metuchen, pleaded guilty on May 25, 2010, to a count
of sexual assault, admitting he sexually assaulted the teenager on various
occasions between September 2003, and June 2004.
Under
a plea agreement negotiated with Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Nicole
Albert, the defendant faces five years in prison when he is sentenced by
Superior Court Judge Bradley Ferencz at the Middlesex County Courthouse on
August 23, 2010.
In
addition, Farris will be required to surrender his teaching certificate, must
register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, and faces parole supervision for
life.

plea agreement was reached shortly before Farris’s trial was scheduled to begin
before Judge Ferencz.
