Man imprisoned for sex assault
County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey announced today that an
Corey L. Stewart (DOB 6/24/89) also was ordered to serve at least 85 percent of the prison term before he can be eligible for parole.

Stewart previously pleaded guilty to a count of aggravated sexual assault. The plea was entered under an agreement reached with Middlesex County Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Christie L. Bevacqua.

The investigation determined that the defendant and victim did not know each other.
Acting Prosecutor Carey commended police for a quick resolution to the case, noting that even though Stewart and the victim were strangers, police traced Stewart and arrested him about 10 hours after the crime occurred.
