         Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony Caputo announce the joint investigation into the death of Richard Bausch, age 64, of New Brunswick.    The police responded after a 9-1-1 call to Lee Avenue and Ward Street in the City of New Brunswick on December 30, 2008 where they found Mr. Bausch.  He was unconscious and unresponsive at the time.   He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

         Mr. Bausch was taken off of life support on January 7, 2009.   An autopsy was performed today by Assistant Middlesex Medical Examiner Frederick DiCarlo.  The cause of death was blunt force trauma.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information should contact Investigator Eleazar Ricardo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-4239 or Detective   Ronoldy Martinez of the New Brunswick Police Department at 732-745-5200.
