Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony Caputo announced today that at approximately 2:47 a.m. today, June 5, 2009, North Brunswick Police received a 911 call from a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted. North Brunswick Police responded and subsequently determined that the incident occurred in New Brunswick. The woman was transported to a local hospital and North Brunswick Police contacted New Brunswick Police who became involved in the investigation. The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Brunswick Police Department are actively investigating the allegations. The investigation has preliminarily revealed that the alleged assault occurred in the early morning hours of June 5, 2009 when the suspect was able to get victim into an older model gold Toyota Camry with New Jersey license plates. The suspect then transported the victim to an area off of Joyce Kilmer Avenue and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
