New Public Information Officer
Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J.
Kaplan today announced the appointment of Jim O’Neill as public information
officer.
Under a one-year contract with the prosecutor’s office, O’Neill, 55, will work
part-time for Prosecutor Kaplan and his staff, issuing news releases on
noteworthy events and responding to inquiries from the media and the public.
O’Neill also will assist in the processing of requests for copies of law
enforcement records that are permitted to be released under the state’s Open
Public Records Act.
He will work approximately 20 hours per week, and will be available to the
media on evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.
Before joining the prosecutor’s office, O’Neill worked as a newspaper reporter,
covering trials and legal issues in
