New Brunswick man dies in apparent shooting

 

 

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A. Caputo announced that a 30-year-old man died after apparently being shot in New Brunswick early this morning.

 

After receiving a 911 call at 5:07 a.m., police found Anthony Filardi of New Brunswick on the sidewalk on Lee Avenue, midway between Seaman and Handy streets.

 

He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead at 6:34 a.m.

 

An autopsy was being performed today by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office, but the results were not immediately available.
