New Brunswick man killed


Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Anthony A. Caputo, director of the New Brunswick Police Department, announced today that police are actively investigating the death of a 19-year-old New Brunswick man, who was the apparent victim of a fatal shooting.


Eduardo Mendez was pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick at 8:49 p.m. on July 13, 2013.


The results of an autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examinerís Office were not immediately available.


The investigation began when police were dispatched to Talmadge Street in New Brunswick at 8:11 p.m. on July 13, 2013, and found the victim outside a house on the 200-block.


The investigation by Detective Brandt Gregus of the New Brunswick Police Department and Investigator Scott Crocco of the Middlesex County Prosecutorís Office is active and continuing, but no arrests have been made.
