Newborn found outside nursing home
Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Edison
Police Chief Thomas Bryan announced that a newborn baby boy was found abandoned
today on the hood of a car parked outside a senior care center.

boy, who appears to have been born within 24 hours of his being discovered, is
in good condition at
The
infant is described as a white male, 7 lbs., 8 oz., and is 21 inches long.
He
was discovered by a nursing home visitor, who called police at 1:53 p.m., after
taking the infant inside the facility, CareOne at the
The
infant was naked and lying on a towel that was spread out over the hood of the
car.
He
is being held for observation at the hospital, and has been placed in the custody
of the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services, while police search
for relatives.
