No appeal planned

 

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan announced today that a decision has been made not to appeal a court ruling releasing the identity of M.B. to the defense in the matter of State v. Dharun Ravi.

 

          Pursuant to the court’s order and the protections contained therein, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office has provided to defense counsel the full name and date of birth of the victim identified in the indictment as M.B.

 

M.B. was notified of this through his attorney. These actions come prior to the seven-day deadline imposed in the court order, and after the state, again in consultation with M.B. and his attorney, decided not to seek an appellate court review of this aspect of the order issued by Superior Court Judge Glenn Berman.
