The purpose of this press release is to announce that murder charges have been filed in the stabbing death of Jesus Ramirez on June 22, 2008 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

On June 22, 2008, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Perth Amboy Police responded to the area behind 500 High Street on a report that a stabbing may have occurred at that location.When police searched the area behind an abandoned warehouse at that address they found blood but no body.The police with the assistance of the Perth Amboy Fire Department, used a boat to search the water (Raritan River) to the rear of the warehouse.At approximately 3:30 p.m. the body of Jesus Ramirez (DOB 12/24/79, last known address, New Brunswick, N.J.) was found in the water wedged underneath a pier approximately 20 yards from the shoreline in back of the warehouse.Ramirez had suffered multiple stab wounds.He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:30 p.m.

An autopsy revealed that Ramirez died of multiple stab wounds.Ramirezí death was classified a homicide.On todayís date Fulgencio G. Monasterio (DOB 7/10/63) and Bernaldo Martinez (DOB 4/19/55) were charged with the murder of Jesus Ramirez and hindering apprehension.The complaints allege that the defendants stabbed the victim to death and then dumped his body in the Arthur Kill.The complaints further allege that these charges are supported by statements of witnesses, the results of DNA analysis, and the results of a police investigation.

Bail was set for both defendants at $750,000 no 10% by Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Honorable Bradley J. Ferencz.

Fulgencio G. Monasterio and Bernaldo Martinez are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
