The purpose
of this press release is to announce that murder charges have been filed in the
stabbing death of Jesus Ramirez on June 22, 2008 in
On June 22,
2008, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Perth Amboy Police responded to the area
behind
An autopsy revealed
that Ramirez died of multiple stab wounds.
Ramirez’ death was classified a homicide. On today’s date Fulgencio
G. Monasterio (DOB 7/10/63) and Bernaldo
Martinez (DOB 4/19/55) were charged with the murder of Jesus Ramirez and
hindering apprehension. The complaints
allege that the defendants stabbed the victim to death and then dumped his body
in the Arthur Kill. The complaints
further allege that these charges are supported by statements of witnesses, the
results of DNA analysis, and the results of a police investigation.
Bail was
set for both defendants at $750,000 no 10% by Middlesex County Superior Court
Judge Honorable Bradley J. Ferencz.

information about this murder is asked to call Middlesex County Prosecutor’s

and Bernaldo Martinez are presumed innocent until
proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
