Pedestrian killed

 

 

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and South Amboy Police Chief Darren LaVigne announced today that police are investigating the death of a pedestrian, who apparently was struck and killed while walking along the shoulder of Route 35 north in South Amboy.

 

The investigation began after a state Department of Transportation maintenance crew, while spraying herbicide along the highway near Raritan Avenue, discovered the body and called police at 10:46 a.m. today.

 

The man’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.

 

The results of an autopsy, which will be conducted by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office, were not immediately available.
