 Photos released

 

 

          Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Anthony A. Caputo, director of the New Brunswick Police Department, today released surveillance photos of three people who may have information on the fatal shooting of a city hospital worker in New Brunswick.

 

The three individuals, described as persons of interest, were seen in surveillance videos in the vicinity of Suydam Street and Remsen Avenue in New Brunswick at about the time Jesse Simons, 61, of New Brunswick was fatally shot on August 6, 2011.

 

          Anyone with information on the individuals is asked to call Detective Mark Pappas of the New Brunswick Police Department at (732) 745-5200, or Investigator Michael Daniewicz at the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-4018.

         

          Police began an investigation after receiving a 911 call at 1:56 a.m., on August 6, 2011, alerting them to the shooting.

 

          Mr. Simons was pronounced dead at 2:28 a.m. at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was taken after he was shot on Suydam Street near Remsen Avenue.

 

An autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Mr. Simons was the victim of a shooting and that the manner of death was a homicide.

 

Mr. Simons had been employed at the hospital as a patient escort.

 

The investigation into his death is continuing, but no arrests have been made.
