School board member charged with attempted luring; endangerment

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Old Bridge Police Chief Thomas H. Collow today announced the arrest of a township school board member, who was charged with attempted luring and endangering the welfare of a 10-year-old child.

David L. Josselyn, (DOB 5/14/62) of 11D White Oak Lane, Old Bridge, was arrested and charged January 28, 2010 at the Old Bridge Police Department.

Josselyn currently is serving a three-year term on the Old Bridge Board of Education. The term expires on April 20, 2010. He also serves as vice president of the Old Bridge Police Departmentís Civilian Emergency Response Team, a civilian volunteer organization sponsored by the police department.

Josselyn was arrested after an investigation by Old Bridge Police and Investigator Frank DiNinno of the Middlesex County Prosecutorís Office determined Josselyn tried to lure the child to an isolated location in the township on January 25, 2010.

The child subsequently reported the incident to school authorities, who contacted township police. The gender of the child is being withheld to protect the youngsterís identity. The child is known to Josselyn, but they are not related.

Josselyn is waiting for bail to be set and is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.

Anyone with information on this, or similar incidents, is asked to call Investigator DiNinno at (732) 745-3600.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Josselyn are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
