Teacher charged with child endangerment at Edison job training center

 

 

 

          Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Edison Police Director Brian Collier announced that a substitute teacher was arrested today and charged with paying a teenage student to give him nude photos of herself.

 

          John Forman, (DOB 6/26/58) of 132 Coddington St., Rahway, was arrested outside his home at about 2 a.m., and was charged with a second-degree count of endangering the welfare of a child.

 

Forman was charged after an investigation by Detective Sal Capriglione, of the Edison Police Department, and Investigator Sue Kowalski, of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, determined Forman, in early June 2009, was at the federal Job Corps Center in Edison when he offered the girl $100 and then paid her for the illicit photos.

 

The preliminary investigation has determined there may be other victims. As a result, anyone with information on Forman is asked to call Detective Capriglione at (732) 248-7400, or Investigator Kowalski at (732) 745-3600.

 

The investigation began after the girl reported the incident to Edison police on Monday, June 29, 2009.

 

Forman, who has worked as a substitute teacher at the federal job training facility for the past two years, is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center on $100,000 bail.

 

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charge against Forman is merely an accusation and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
