Teen arrested and charged with sexual assault

 

 

          Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Middlesex Borough Police Chief James L. Benson today announced that a 15-year-old boy was arrested August 11, 2009, on a charge of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy in the borough.

 

The teenager, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was charged with juvenile delinquency by committing an act of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of the child.

 

The teenager remains in custody at the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

He was arrested and charged after an investigation by Detective Chad Corner, of the Middlesex Borough Police Department, and Investigator Karleen Duca, of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit, determined that the teenager assaulted the boy on August 10, 2009, in a men’s bathroom at the Roy K. Harkness Community Pool in Middlesex Borough.

As is the case with all juveniles charged with delinquency, the charge against the teenager is merely an accusation and he is presumed innocent until adjudicated delinquent.
