Teenager remains in custody following juvenile hearing
The teenager, whose identity is being withheld because of his age, was held at the detention center on May 1, 2013 and remained there following the hearing today before Superior Court Judge James Hyland.
The judge ruled the teenager will remain in custody until the next court hearing, which was scheduled for May 10, 2013.
The teenager was charged in a juvenile complaint on April 28, 2013 with possession of a destructive device. The charge would be considered a third degree offense if the teenager were an adult.
Based on a preliminary investigation by the Edison Police Department and a review by the Middlesex County Prosecutorís Office, it has been determined that there is no evidence at this time to warrant the filing of additional or more serious charges against the teenager.
