Third suspect arrested in homicide
Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Chief John
Zebrowski of the Sayreville Police Department announced today that a third man
has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal beating of a
28-year-old Edison man who was killed in the borough.
Michael
Doce (DOB 1/24/81) of the Colonia section of Woodbridge was arrested and
charged on November 9, 2011, with a count of conspiracy to commit murder in the
death of Kelvin Dumo, 28, of Edison.
Doce
was arrested and charged after Investigator Michael Daniewicz of the Middlesex
County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Douglas Sprague of the Sayreville
Police Department determined that Doce discussed the homicide with a
co-defendant, Daniel F. Medaglia, before Mr. Dumo was
fatally beaten on November 7, 2011.
Medaglia,
(DOB 10/16/84) also of
Bail
for Doce was set today at $500,000. Medaglia is being held in lieu of $2
million bail. Ryan’s bail has been set at $50,000.
The
investigation began after a man, whose name is being withheld, was on his way
to work when he saw the victim and called 911 at 4:49 a.m. on November 7, 2011.
The
victim was pronounced dead at 5:25 a.m. on November 7, 2011, after he was found
on property owned by Viking Terminal on
An
autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined
that Mr. Dumo died from blunt force trauma to the head and that the manner of
death was homicide.

As
is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Medaglia, Morrell
and Doce are merely accusations and they are presumed innocent until proven
guilty.
