Woman critically injured in Jamesburg collision

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Jamesburg Police Chief Martin Horvath today announced that a 17-year-old motorist was critically injured on April 30, 2009, when her car collided with another vehicle.

Karlee N. Zelasko (DOB 6/21/91) of Jamesburg remained in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick following the crash at 5:48 p.m. on Buckelew Avenue in Jamesburg.

A preliminary investigation determined that Zelasko, who was driving a 1993 Saturn, pulled out of a driveway and made a left turn onto Buckelew Avenue, crossing into the path of a 2002 Jeep that was being driven southbound by Gerald J. Nunziato Jr., (DOB 6/18/50) of Freehold.

Nunziato subsequently was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He also was charged with having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. No criminal charges have been filed.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to call Sgt. Louis Ceras of the Jamesburg Police Department at (732) 521-0011, or Investigator Sean O’Lone of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3315.
