ISELIN, NJ, (March 16, 2010) 9:30 a.m. BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED FOR MORE MUNICIPALITIES
Middlesex Water Company is reporting that the BOIL WATER ADVISORY that had been put in place March 14, 2010 has been lifted for the following towns only: WOODBRIDGE, CARTERET, METUCHEN, SOUTH AMBOY, HIGHLAND PARK, OLD BRIDGE, PERTH AMBOY and PORTIONS OF SOUTH PLAINFIELD AND EDISON served by Middlesex Water. We are pleased to report that tests for the municipalities mentioned above show the water quality to be safe and customers in those towns no longer need to boil water before using.
The following municipalities remain under a boil water advisory until water quality test results are received: Aberdeen, East Brunswick, South River, Spotswood and Helmetta. Middlesex Water will continue to update this website once we have received information from these local municipal water utilities that the Department of Environmental Protection has lifted the advisory. Those customers in municipalities still under the advisory should continue to boil their water for one minute for the following: drinking, cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets and all other consumption.
The Company will be posting updates on its website home page at www.middlesexwater.com under WATER EMERGENCIES as water quality results become available.
